Review by hotel critic
Nestled just a stone's throw from the serene Storsjön Lake, Forsbacka Wärdshus is an enchanting retreat with a charming old-world atmosphere. As I stepped through its historic doors, I was greeted by the delightful singing of birds and the warm hospitality of the staff, who spared no effort in ensuring we felt right at home. The spacious room I occupied featured a cozy seating area, a little haven after a day of exploring the natural beauty that surrounds this lovely inn. The restaurant, with its inviting bar and furnished terrace, served a French-influenced Swedish cuisine that highlighted local produce-a true culinary experience worth savoring. We indulged in a delicious lunch, enhanced by the personable staff who shared fascinating tales of the inn's rich history. For those looking for activities, there's plenty on offer, from cycling to fishing, and even a nearby bookable tennis court, which added a bit of sportiness to our stay. Forsbacka Wärdshus is more than just a place to rest; it's a cozy base from which to explore the captivating landscape around Sandviken. Whether travelling with friends or on a quiet solo retreat, this inn is a gem that truly resonates with both the history and the natural beauty of Sweden. Highly recommended!
